Unfortunately Mother’s Day 2020 will be different from every other Mother’s Day. This year we have to recognize the special women in our lives while practicing social distancing. Since most of us will not be able to physically be with our mothers, we will have to be more creative to celebrate Mother’s Day quarantine style.
Originally for mother’s day this year we had Brewers Tickets to attend an afternoon baseball game as a family. There was a Christian Yelich Bobblehead giveaway for attending. We collect bobbleheads and my son plays with them so it was a win win. However, with the quarantine and major league baseball not currently playing, we had to change our plans.
Instead of attending a baseball game, during the Mother’s Day quarantine my siblings and I are putting on a “Social Distance Wine Tasting” for my mom. In my mom’s driveway we will each have a wine station on a small table or tv tray (over 6 feet apart of course). To start we will each set out 6 small cups (one for each kind of wine we have). Then we will go around and pour the wine we brought so we each have the 6 different wine samples. Every 10 minutes we will sample another new wine while practicing social distancing. It’s not our original Mother’s Day plan, but it’s still a fun way to celebrate mom during this Mother’s Day quarantine.
There are many ways to honor and acknowledge your mom and mother like figures in your life without being together. Furthermore, if you are a mom, it is a day to observe YOU too. Here are more ideas to celebrate Mother’s Day quarantine style in 2020.
